ALIPH is the Arabic Language Institute of Philadelphia.

The following advanced courses are offered this year 2021-2022 at ALIPH and will be completed fully over the course of 3 trimesters:

  • 1st: Aug 23-Nov12
  • 2nd: nov 15-Feb 5
  • 3rd: Feb 7-May 10
These courses are open for the general AICP public following the credit system as a first step towards accreditation and licensing as a college in the near future God willing.

Nahu

The explanation of Qatr An Nada, Ibn Hisham al-Ansariyy

Instructors: Sheikh Saif El-Hajj, M.A, Islamic & Qur’anic Studies.

Sheikh Ahmad Helmi, M.A, Islamic Studies.

This class meets Monday-Friday, 8am-9am EST

  • Cost: $750/Trimester

This is a book pertaining to the judgments of Nahu, easy to understand, study, and memorize. Authored by the high-ranking linguistic scholar, Ibn Hisham al-Ansariyy. This book teaches the rules and fundamentals of the Arabic language needed to speak with accuracy, and essential for understanding the Qur’an, hadith, and other Islamic texts.

*Students should have prior knowledge of Arabic grammar, such as the book of al-Ajirrumiyyah

Fiqh

The explanation of Matn Abi Shuja^, Ibn Qasim al-Ghazziyy

Instructor: Sheikh Ahmad Helmi, M.A, Islamic Studies

This class meets Monday-Friday, 9:05am-10:05am EST

Credits: 5

Cost: $750/Trimester

This is one of the most beneficial summaries authored in Shafi^yy Fiqh, this book is an introduction to a number of important issues in the various chapters of Fiqh. It provides students with a solid foundation in the rules for valid purification, prayer, and acts of worship.

*Students should have prior knowledge of the book al-Qawl al Jaliyy

Tawhid

The explanation of As-Siratul Mustaqim, Shaykh ^Abdullah al-Harariyy

Instructor: Sheikh Besim Geylani B.A, Islamic Fundamentals

Credits: 5

Cost: $750/Trimester

This class meets Monday-Friday, 11:00am-12:00pm EST

This is one of the richest books in the judgments pertaining to Islamic creed. An essential to protect oneself and others in an age of widespread corruption in belief.

*Students should have prior knowledge of the book al-Qawl al Jaliyy

Sarf

The explanation of al Kilaniyy in as-Sarf, Az-Zanjaniyy

Instructor: Sheikh Omar Kassem M.A, Islamic Studies

This class meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12:05pm-1:05pm EST

Credits: 3

Cost: $450/Trimester

This is one of the most famous abridged books in Sarf, al-Kilaniyy’s explanation of the Matn of al-^Izziyy delves into the origin and composition of Arabic word and verbs. It is an essential for students to converse in Arabic with accuracy and grasp the Arabic texts of the religion.

*Students should have prior knowledge of Arabic grammar, such as the book al-Ajirrumiyyah.

Adab & Balaghah

Instructor: Sheikh Omar Kassem M.A, Islamic Studies

Credits: 2

Cost: $300 per trimester

This class meets Tuesday and Thursday from 12:05pm-1:05pm EST

This course is an introduction to Arabic literature and the linguistic tools used to improve, beautify, and embellish the speech. Students study the analysis and composition of the notable Arabic poetic works of the past.

*Students should have prior knowledge of Nahu and Sarf
